Face Color Migration Enhanced for 2020

Unstitch and Split functions now support maintaining face color when generating new faces.

Face Color Migration Enhancement

  • To illustrate the enhancement…
  • We have 2 identical solids with matching multiple face colors.
  • One solid will remain as a visual reference & the other will be SPLIT & UNSTITCH to show previous & new enhanced behaviors.
  • Previous Behavior
  • The 2 settings for “Modify Break Options” had no affect on Split functions. Unknown to users, only the UNSTITCH was affected.
  • To show the previous behaviors we will use the default “Use System Attributes” setting.
  • The SPLIT function results
  • The results lost/changed some of their RGB face colors or set faces to the solid color.
  • Similarly, the UNSTITCH lost RGB face colors
  • New Enhanced Behavior
  • This time we set the 2nd option “Use Entity Attributes”. Use this option if face colors are important to your workflow & process.
  • SPLIT functions
  • RGB Face colors maintained
  • UNSTITCH results
  • RGB Face colors maintained
